¢º Research Summary

 

 

Jin-Yong Choi is professor of college of agriculture and Life Sciences, Seoul National University. He is currently vice president of Korea Society of Agricultural Engineers, board members of KCID (Korean Committee of Irrigation and Drainage) and KSRP (Korea Society of Rural Planning). He serves as associate editor of Irrigation and Drainage journal and chief managing editor of Paddy and Water Environment journal. He had served as associate dean of planning and coordination, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Seoul National University and deputy director general of Institutes of Green Bio Science and Technology in Seoul National University. He has been involved various ODA project formulation and evaluation in agricultural sector with agricultural water specialty.

He has a specialty in irrigation and drainage engineering on agricultural water resources management. His research career has also devoted in the interdisciplinary research on ICT application, climate change, Nexus etc. to agricultural water management. He published more than 100 papers in the Korean and international peer review journals. He received his Ph.D. at Seoul National University and researched at Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department in Purdue University from 2000 to 2005. He is implementing national research projects as a leading project manager related with climate change impact on agricultural water resources, water footprint, agricultural reservoir operation, ICT application and Water-Food-Energy Nexus.
