​​​​​​Eunji Kim (Spring 2024 - ) 
 


Eunji Kim is a master student. She has research interests in exploring human behavior influenced by various environmental changes. Her current research investigates the impact of climate change on the winter tourism industry. Also, she is studying the effects of high-speed train operations on shrinking city. Eunji holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University.


Jonghyun Lee (Spring 2024 - ) 
 


Jonghyun Lee is a master student. He has research interests in the urban environment, with specific focuses on the effect of streetscape quality on human preferences and landscape spaces. His current research investigates influences of quantified streetscape quality on park visits, particularly parks within walking distance of residential areas. Jonghyun holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University.


Bonyu Koo (Spring 2024 - ) 
 


Bonyu Koo is a master's student with a research focus on urban public spaces, particularly examining the influence of urban green spaces on human health. Her current research investigates the relationship between street greenery usage and the mental health of urban residents. Bonyu holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture with an honor of Cum Laude from Seoul National University.


Younghoo Kim (Spring 2023 - ) 
 


Younghoo Kim is a master's student, with primary research interest in identifying social and enviornmental implications of urban landscape. His specific interests encompass various aspects of green urban open spaces: mapping land cover of urban parks through remote sensing and deep learning techniques, examining association between physical features of open spaces and user safety, etc. He further plan to develop a methodology for automatically assessing management condition of urban green. Looking ahead, he wishes to broaden his research area into a simualtion-based approach for the pedestrian analysis and UAV-based environmental sensing for better understanding of urban landscape. Younghoo holds B.S. degree in Geography from National Taiwan University.


Yoojin Shin (Spring 2023 - ) 
 


Yoojin Shin is a master student. She has research interests in the relationship between the environment and humans, with a particular focus on the effects of climate change on human behavior and consumption patterns. Her current research investigates the key factors influencing energy consumption patterns, especially electricity usage, in the context of climate change, and applies deep learning to analyze and predict these complex dynamics. Yoojin holds a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Sangmyung University.


Yena Suh (Fall 2022 - )


Yena Suh is a master student. She has research interests in climate change and human behaviors, with specific focuses on the effects of weather change on consumption patterns. Her current research investigates the impacts of climate change on food and agricultural product consumption patterns. Yena holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture Design from Kyung Hee University.


Mingu Kang (Spring 2022 - Fall 2023) 
 


Mingu Kang is a master student. He has research interests in the environmental psychology, with specific focuses on the effect of landscape spaces on human preference and psychological well-being. His current research investigates influences of commercial multi-complex on the survival of nearby individual retail establishments. He also investigates the effects of green infrastructure (green walls, green roofs) on pedestrians’ psychological well-being, through human-subject experiments. He is serving as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) and Landscape Plaaning (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) courses in Spring 2022. Mingu holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University.



Hyerim Hwang (Spring 2022 - ) 



Hyerim Hwang is a master's student. She has research interest in identifying the relationship between the physical urban characteristics and the health conditions of the citizens. Currently she conducts a study for 1) identifying built-environmental attributes that distinguish shrinking cities and non-shrinking cities 2) analyzing the association between the prevalence of the cardiovascular disease and those city characteristics. Hyerim holds a B.S degree majoring in Landscape Architecture and minoring in International Relations from Ohio State University.


Yeongeun Jin (Fall 2020 - Spring 2022) 



Yeongeun Jin is a master student. She has research interests in the urban environment, with specific focuses on thermal comfort in various outdoor environment conditions. Her current research investigates optimal simulation scenarios to mitigate urban heat island phenomenon. She received an honorable mention in the '2019 Landscape Architecture Sharing Contest', a design contest for improving the environment of pedestrian-oriented commercial areas. Yeongeun holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture and Japanese Education from Konkuk University.


Seungjoo Baek (Spring 2020 - Fall 2021) 
 


Seungjoo Baek is a master student. She has researched to assess the locational factors that explains the causes of farmland abandonments. Prior to joining the lab, she worked for a landscape architecture office as a landscape designer, working on several projects; landscape planning/design of housing complexes such as Godeok Arteon in Seoul, Yeongjong Switchen Skycity and Songdo Hillstate in Incheon. She is serving as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) and Landscape Planning (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) Courses in Spring 2020. Seungjoo holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul Women’s University. Her research interests in the urban developments, with specific focuses on the spatial relationship in various socioeconomic statuses.


Hayoung Yoo (Spring 2019 - Fall 2020) 




Hayoung Yoo is a master student. She has research interests in urban developments, with specific focuses on the spatial impact of landscape spaces and surrounding infrastructures on the real estate values. Prior to joining the lab, she participated in the Research Fellowship Program hosted by the College of Agriculture and Life Science to learn the analytical methods needed for data analysis. As an undergraduate researcher, she constructed a maximum land value projection map of South Korea for a project “Model Development of Integrated Climate Change Impact and Vulnerability Evaluation”, supported by the Ministry of Environment in Korea. She is serving as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) in Spring 2019. Hayoung holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture with an honor of Cum Laude from Seoul National University.  


Haewon Moon (Spring 2018 - Fall 2019)




Haewon Moon is a master student. She has research interests in urbanism, with a specific focus on the form and use of public spaces as to improving the quality of urban life, by re-orienting the city to achieve walkability for pedestrians. She received a special prize in '2017 15th Korea Rural Planning Contest', a design competition for a smart and clean rural community. She had actively led research and design various types of networking systems. She also participated in '2017 ASLA Student Awards, General Design Category', submitting a project about reservoir water purification and restoration of the environment. Haewon holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture Design with an honor awards from the dean of the Art and Design School at Kyung Hee University.   


Sunggyu Lee (Spring 2017 - Fall 2018)



Sunggyu Lee is a master student. He has research interests in the urban form in relationship to its inhabitants in various socioeconomic statuses. His current research investigates the influence of foreign tourists to the types of business establishments in major shopping areas in Seoul. He has participated in a research project, “revitalization of local retail districts”, supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning in Korea and “model development of integrated climate change impact and vulnerability evaluation”, supported by the Ministry of Environment in Korea. He is serving as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) and Landscape Planning (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) courses in Spring 2017. Sunggyu holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture with an honor of Cum Laude from Seoul National University.


Yeankyoung Hahm (Spring 2016 - Fall 2017)



Yeankyoung Hahm is a master student. She has research interests on urban regeneration through improving public spaces, with a specific focus on pedestrian environment. Her current research investigates built environment affecting the walking choice in a retail district. She will conduct a series of experiments with GPS devices. She has participated in a research project, "Revitalization of local retail districts", supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning in Korea. Yeankyoung holds B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture with an honor of Cum Laude from Seoul National University.  


Hyunsook Kwon (Spring 2015 - Fall 2016)



Hyunsook Kwon is a master student. He has research interests in the environmental psychology in the scope of landscape architecture, with specific focuses on the impact of landscape spaces on human behavior and mental health. He has conducted an analysis on the community facility in apartment complex whether the provision meets the residents’ demand, and presented it at the International Symposium on Urban Planning in 2015, Sejong, Korea. His current research investigates smoking behavior in public open space, Seoul, Korea, and will be presented at the Urban Transitions Global Summit in 2016, Shang-hi, China. Also, he has participated in the projects; A Study of Mountain Village Health Industry Cluster and Model Village in Gangwon, The Development of Saemanguem Comprehensive Agricultural Complex. He served as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) and Landscape Drawing & Media (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) courses in Spring and Fall, 2015. Hyunsook holds his B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University.   


Donggyu Jung (Spring 2015 - Fall 2016)



Donggyu Jung is a master student. He has research interests in the spatial distribution of inequality and retail business in the scope of urban planning and landscape architecture, with specific focuses on the impact of urban renewal project and the impact of built environment on retail business. He has conducted an analysis on the impact of a Newtown project on housing prices from designation to withdrawal process in Seoul. He presented his analysis at 2016 Conference of Architectural Institute of Korea, and awarded the best oral paper prize. His current research subject investigates influences of built environments on food retail sales revenue. Also he has participated in two different projects, ‘A Study of Mountain Village Health Industry Cluster and Model Village in Gang-won’ and ‘The Development of Saemanguem Comprehensive Agricultural Complex’. He served as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) and Landscape Planning (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) courses in spring 2016. 


Eunah Jung (Spring 2015 - Fall 2016)



Eunah Jung is a master student. She has research interests in the economic valuation in the scope of landscape architecture, with specific focuses on the impact of landscape spaces and natural environment on real estate market values. She has conducted an analysis on the impact of Gyeongui Line Park Project on residential property values in Seoul, and presented it at the International Symposium on Urban Planning in 2015, Incheon, Korea. Her current research investigates the effect of flood hazards on real estate market values, and will be presented at the Urban Transitions Global Summit in 2016, Shang-hi, China. Also she has participated in a research project, “Model development of integrated climate change impact and vulnerability evaluation”, supported by the Ministry of Environment in Korea. She served as a teaching assistant for Computer Graphics (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) and Landscape Planning (Professor Heeyeun Yoon) courses in Spring 2015. Eunah holds her B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture with an honor of Cum Laude from Seoul National University.
