제가 선정한 논문은 올해 Frontiers in Immunology 에 출판된
"Radiation-Inactivated S. gallinarum Vaccine Provides a High Protective Immune Response by Activating Both Humoral and Cellular Immunity" 입니다.
Salmonella gallinarum (SG) 은 chicken 에서 acute systemic disease 를 일으키는 병원체로 live attenuated vaccine 인 9R 이 commercial 백신으로써 사용됩니다. inactivated SG vaccine 이 사용되긴 하지만 cellular immune response 가 낮기 때문에 9R 보다 효과가 떨어진다고 알려져있습니다. 본 논문에서는 formalin 에 비해 gamma irradiation 으로 만든 inactivation SG vaccine 이 humoral, cellular, protective immune responses 가 더 높은 효과가 있음을 밝혔고 나아가 9R 을 대체할 수 있을 정도의 백신효과가 있음을 확인하였습니다.
