이번주 제가 발표할 논문은 19년 12월 Immunity에 게재된 'Bacterial endotoxin activates the coagulation cascade through gasdermin D-dependent phosphatidylserine exposure' 입니다. 

해당 연구진은 endotoxemia의 병리와 기전에 대한 논문을 많이 출판하는 팀으로, 본 논문을 통해서는 endotoxin에 의한 반응으로 gasdermin D가  phosphatidylserine을 out leaflet으로 노출시킴으로서 caspase 11와 tissue factor들을 매개하여 disseminated intravascular coagultion (DIC)을 야기한다는 것을 밝혔습니다.

저의 연구에서도 endotoxemic mice의 다양한 organ에서 PAI-1의 발현이 높았기 때문에 DIC에 초점을 두어 mice의 사망요인을 분석해보고자 본 논문을 선정하게되었습니다.
