이번주 제가 발표할 논문은 Cell Reports에 2020년에 출판된

'Gut Microbiota Composition Modulates the Magnitude and Quality of Germinal Centers during Plasmodium Infections'입니다.

 

본 논문에서는 다른 회사의 mouse를 사용하여 Gut microbiota의 구성이 다름에 따라

malaria의 원인균인 Plasmodium infection이 다름을 보여주고있습니다.

이러한 현상이 일어나는 이유를 Plasmodium infection 시 붕괴되는 germinal center (GC)가 

Plasmodium resistance mice의 경우 gut microbiota에 의하여 유지가 됨을 확인하였습니다.

또한 GC의 형성과 관련된 면역세포들이 Plasmodium resistance mice에서 증가되어 있으며 

항체의 repertoire이 다양함을 확인하였습니다.

이를 통하여 gut microbiota가 Plasmodium infection을 조절할 수 있음을 확인한 논문입니다.
