This course provides basic theory of liquid permeation through porous materials, analysis of water vaporization associated with wood preservationm, and the optimal treatment techniques, Also, wood preserving characteristics of various chemicals, the physical and chemical factors influencing wood preservation, and prevention characteristic of wood preservatives against microbial and insects will be discussed. Mechanism of fire retardants and analysis of heat transfer phenomenon in wood will also be handled
