With the concept of microbiome, probiotics and gut microbiome are involved in progress and development of metabolic disorders including obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)/Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS), cancer, depression, sleep, and arthritis as well as longevity in human. In addition, they also provide critical insights for animal production, animal disease, environmental issues, reproduction, and animal welfare in animal industry.
